Ho Chi Minh City was known as the land of "the favorable rain and wind". However, nowadays, according to the climate change scenario, Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong River Delta are most affected by climate change. Ho Chi Minh City is also one of the 10 largest cities in the world is most affected by climate change.

In the morning of September 11, in Ha Noi, Minister Tran Hong Ha and Vice Minister Nguyen Linh Ngoc presided the meeting to implement the conclusion of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the organization of the conference on changing Mekong Delta sustainable development model (Mekong Delta) to adapt to climate change.
