The Mekong Delta is a key economic region of the country, but it is also an area facing many challenges due to climate change affecting all industries, sectors, and economic sectors. The Ministry of Science and Technology has issued a Decision on approving the national science and technology program to respond to climate change for sustainable development of the Mekong Delta.

Many rice varieties are researched to adapt to climate change.
National science and technology programs are applied to serve the sustainable development of this region. Solutions focus on communication, international cooperation, planning, research on crop and livestock varieties adapted to climate change, and socio-economic models and smart technology.
At the same time, the development of smart waterway transportation, water supply and salinity prevention systems is also proposed to effectively respond to climate change and ensure sustainable development of the Mekong Delta. |
