Vietnam committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
By 2030, using domestic human resources, Vietnam committed to reduce 8% of greenhouse gas emissions compared with conventional development scenarios and possibly reduce to 25% if it received international support.

On October 30, in Danang, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment held a conference to announce Vietnam's contribution report for a new global agreement on climate. This is one of Vietnam's efforts to join hands with the world reduce the incalculable harm caused by climate change (CC).

Vietnam was severely affected by climate change

Vietnam is one of the countries severely affected by climate change and natural disasters. In  which, Mekong Delta is one of the few plains in the world are most vulnerable due to sea level rise.

In the recent years, Vietnam increasingly faced with losses and damages beyond its response. The extreme climate events and disasters gradually increase in intensity and frequency. On average each year, Vietnam had about 500 dead people and thousands of people were injured by natural disasters. Natural disasters also damaged about 1.5% of national GDP.

If the nations of the world do not have a positive activity towards the earth, the current climate trends by 2100, the annual average temperature in Vietnam could rise between 2-3 degrees, more extreme weather, rising sea levels from 78-100cm.
