Ho Chi Minh city: Spent 10.000 billion VND for the flooding prevention project
10.000 billion VND will be invested to implement the flooding prevention project accounted climate change factors in H Chi Minh city.


The deputies attended the groundbreaking Ceremony of the flooding prevention project 10,000 billion VND in Ho Chi Minh city.

In the morning of June 26, groundbreaking ceremony of the flooding prevention project accounted climate change factors - period 1 for Ho Chi Minh city, held at the Lotus Port area (district 7, Ho Chi Minh city).

Attending the ceremony, there were Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Party Secretary Dinh La Thang and leaders of Ho Chi Minh city.

The project includes the construction of major items, such as construction of 6 controlled tidal sluices in Ben Nghe, Tan Thuan, Phu Xuan, Muong Bananas, Cay Kho, Phu Dinh and the riverside dike of Sai Gon river which will be from Vam Thuat to Kinh river with than 7.8 km in length.

When putting in operation, the project will control tidal flooding and actively respond to climate change for the area of 570 km² and a population of about 6.5 million people in the area of right bank of the Saigon River and the center of Ho Chi Minh city.
