Be willing to hold Conference on changing Mekong Delta sustainable development model to adapt to climate change
In the morning of September 11, in Ha Noi, Minister Tran Hong Ha and Vice Minister Nguyen Linh Ngoc presided the meeting to implement the conclusion of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the organization of the conference on changing Mekong Delta sustainable development model (Mekong Delta) to adapt to climate change. The conference is expected to take place on September 26-27 in Can Tho City.


Overview of the meeting.

Attending the meeting, there were the leader of the General Departments, the Standing Office of Vietnam Mekong River Committee, the Office of the Ministry and a number of related units.
At the meeting, Mr. Tang The Cuong - Chief of the Office of the Ministry - reported on the requirements and tasks assigned by the Prime Minister in Conclusion No.420 / TB-VPCP on preparation for conferences on climate change and donor conferences in the Mekong Delta.

After listening to Deputy Minister Nguyen Linh Ngoc as well as leaders of functional units reported on the preparation of the conference, presented at the meeting, Minister Tran Hong Ha requested units to prepare a conference based on the scientific, careful and urgent spirit; Suggest advice on establishment of conference steering Committee.

The Conference Steering Committee will instruct ministries, sectors and localities to prepare scientific reports at the thematic sessions; scenario, specific responsibility assignment; as well as the logistics to hold the upcoming conference in the most effective way.
