Evaluation of travel businesses in Ho Chi Minh City on the potential of virtual reality tourism development
In Ho Chi Minh City, in 2019, the city's tourism industry welcomed over 8.6 million international visitors, an increase of nearly 13.5% over the same period, domestic tourists reached 32.77 million arrivals, an increase of 13% compared to 2018. Total tourism revenue reached over VND 140 trillion, up 10.15% compared to 2018.


In Vietnam, many units have initially applied virtual reality technology to tourism activities, such as the project to find the lost royal palace by Hue Monuments Conservation Center; Moc Chau 3600 project to introduce Moc Chau tourism implemented by Vietravel. Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry is also continuing to be interested in investment and development commensurate with the city's position. The enhancement of application of the latest technologies in tourism activities, the development of smart tourism, and virtual reality tourism are also mentioned in the development policies of Ho Chi Minh City.

The above project is carried out with the aim of studying and evaluating the tourism businesses in Ho Chi Minh City on the potential of developing virtual reality tourism in order to provide solutions, recommendations and orientations for tourism exploitation. Virtual reality in Ho Chi Minh City in the context of technology has a strong impact on tourism activities.
