The first prize of the innovative science competition for nationwide high school pupils in 2015 was honored, suddenly happy for 2 mountainous pupils in Hoa Binh province.

Two pupils class 11 found around the highland villages (as Doc Lap commune, Ky Son district) often have small stream flowing at the foot of the hill, flow and flow speed may change according to seasons, but in general these maintained throughout the year. "Therefore, they ask why they don’t use the flow energy of the stream to bring water up to serve the people?" - Nguyen Tuan Hung shared.
Undergoing over 8 months (6-2014 to 1-2015) Hung and Vu studied, observed to take advantage of the existing equipments (consisting of normal bicycle motion, high pressure water pumps) and manufacture devices to bring water up by using water power.
The equipment also solves the initial problem posed in the project - bring water up to 40 m in places without electricity. In particular, the machine’s price is just under 1.5 million VND.
According to experts, the device is simply designed to bring water up to a superior height compared to other devices in the market. It can be applied in small streams. The study is one of the 26 studies were shortlisted English proficiency examination to select Intel ISEF contest (International Science and Technology Contest).
