Netherlands shared smart city development experiences

According to experts from the Netherlands, many cities are adopting the smart city model, Vietnam needs not only a long-term plan but also needs a smart plan for smart city development.

In the evening of March 29 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Construction and the Dutch Embassy organized a workshop on "Smart cities development in Vietnam towards green growth and sustainable development" to share experiences in development of smart city.
At the workshop, participants discussed policy issues and legal framework of smart city development, practical experiences on urban planning, development and technology in smart city development in Vietnam.
According to Vice Minister Nguyen Dinh Toan, in the past years, the process of urbanization in Vietnam happened at a relatively high rate compared to the region; contributing an important part to the country's socio-economic development. The national urban rate was 37.5%. Urban systems contributed more than 70% of national GDP.
The rapid development makes the city is facing many difficulties and challenges, that is the urban planning, construction and development. |
