In fact, Vietnamese goods still face many barriers in complying with standards and regulations, such as export regulations or documents and procedures. Brand protection is also a painful problem for Vietnamese businesses.

In the morning of October 7, 2022, at Ninh Kieu 2 Hotel, Can Tho, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology coordinated with the Coordination Office of the New Rural Development Program to organize intellectual property training “Building, exploiting and developing intellectual property for products under the OCOP Program” aims to promote protection registration for key and specific products, services and products associated with the OCOP Program of the city.

On June 14, 2021, the Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property issued Decision No. 2176/QD-SHTT on the issuance of the Certificate of registration of geographical indications No. 00107 for the geographical indication "ICHIDA GAKI/ICHIDA KAKI" /ICHIDA persimmon” for dried persimmons. Minami Shinshu Agricultural Cooperative Association is the organization that manages geographical indications.

Luc Ngan lychee (Bac Giang province) was granted a geographical indication in 2008. Up to now, the locality has effectively exploited and developed this GI. From practice, science and technology is the only way to improve the value and brand of Luc Ngan lychee, thereby bringing income to farmers.

The first meeting of the Working Group on intellectual property, including geographical indications within the framework of the implementation of the EVFTA Agreement, was conducted online in the afternoon of May 21, 2021.
