At the meeting, General Director of PV Power Le Nhu Linh proposed to deploy the project of Ca Mau 3 Power Plant, in Khanh An Industrial Park, in Khanh An Commune, U Minh District, Ca Mau Province (the project is located at next to the current Ca Mau Gas - Power - Fertilizer Zone).

Ca Mau 3 Power Plant Project uses a combined cycle gas turbine with 2 units with a total capacity of 1,500 MW using imported LNG, with a total investment of 1.5 billion USD and an estimated time completing the project by 2026. After putting into operation, the power output will reach 9 billion kWh / year, creating jobs for 2,000 local workers. It is expected that after 25 years, the plant will contribute to the budget of Ca Mau province about 8,800 billion VND.

PV Power proposes that Ca Mau province considers handing over the land in Khanh An commune (about 26 hectares) to the implementing unit of the Ca Mau 3 power plant project when the project is approved in Power Plan 8.

PV Power commits to properly implement the responsibilities and obligations of the investor when implementing the project ”- Mr. Le Nhu Linh affirmed.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Quan thanked PetroVietnam Power Corporation for investing and operating well the plants in Ca Mau and for participating in the budget contribution and social security for the province in recent years.

“Ca Mau province strongly believes in the capacity, potentials as well as prestige of the unit and will consider in bidding when having the Power Plan 8. If winning the bid, the unit should speed up the project implementation and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the province acts as the central point in handing over the site to the project construction unit "- Mr. Le Quan emphasized.
