After many years of working, Mr. Nguyen Van Lien (38 years old) found that many cashew nut shelling machines are chain-driven, often losing performance and durability after only 1 year.
The main reason for this is that these machines are designed with a sprocket drive system, which is easy to stretch, causing the server to reduce performance. This can only be remedied by replacing the chain or increasing the chain periodically.
This affects the operation of the machine, causing cashew farmers to have to replace the machine with a new one after just over a year of use, resulting in increased costs.
With professional knowledge gained from years of studying mechanical engineering at Lilama 2 College of Technology (Dong Nai), Mr. Nguyen Van Lien (Phuoc Long town) and his associates have tinkered with many years of experiences to create a new generation cashew nut shelling machine with outstanding performance and durability and overcome the existing disadvantages of the current popular cashew shelling machine.

The machine is designed by the group with a size of 0.9 m long, 0.8 m wide, 1.1 m high, made of steel, weighing nearly 1.5 tons. The body of the machine is arranged with 16 rotating cutters in an iron cage driven by gears, using an AC motor. The knife system with the split mechanism along the grain curve with a longer cutting path than the chain gear makes the thing less broken, the loss rate is low, less than 0.5%.
When tested, on the two-head system of type A cashew nut splitter (the largest particle size) with a yield of 9-10 tons in 8 hours of operation, the percentage of broken kernels is less than 3%, the percentage of remaining seeds is only 1 -3%. Smaller size cashew nuts give lower yield.
He said, the market price of the machine is about 800 million VND. The group's machine has higher productivity and durability than the old machine, sold for about 980 million VND, including locomotive and production line system including feeding, conveyor, sieving machine and etc.
In evaluating the product, Mr. Chu Ba Long, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Science and Technology Business Club, said that the difference of the machine is that the direct drive mechanism makes the design more compact than other machines with chain drive. The peeling mechanism of the machine uses 16 knives with a long split path for higher productivity, low loss rate. |
