Climate Change
On May 7, 2018, in Hanoi, French Development Agency (AFD), the Climate Change Department (MONRE) and the National Economics University co-organized a workshop on "The Economic Impact of Climate Change in Vietnam."
On April 2, 2018, People's Committee of Hau Giang Province promulgated the Plan for implementation of the Paris Climate Change Agreement in Hau Giang Province in 2018.
On April 20, in Hanoi, Climate Change Department collaborated with University of Natural Resources and Environment held a workshop to promote the coordination in implementing the Climate Convention in Vietnam, to disseminate the contents concerning the implementation of the Climate Convention and sub-laws documents of the Convention in Vietnam.
Ben Tre is considered as a province heavily affected by climate change so the situation of drought and salt intrusion has seriously affected the life and production of local people, especially in coastal districts.
The Hanoi People's Committee ha just issued Decision No. 1123 / QD-UBND on establishing an inter-agency working group to coordinate with the leading cities in climate change response C40, gather data for greenhouse gas inventory and update Hanoi climate change action plan.

The World Bank (WB) has warned that in the next 30 years there will be about 140 million people in three areas of developing countries that have to migrate due to climate change.
This is one of the objectives of the project "Replication of house model adaptation to climate change in Dong Ha city" has just been approved by Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee.
Recently, in Hai Phong, the Climate Change Department (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) has coordinated with the Japan Global Environment Facility (IGES) to organize a workshop to introduce the Joint credit Mechanism (JCM) and opportunity to implement low emission projects for Vietnamese enterprises.
