The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) launched a project to prevent illegal wildlife trade on May 11.
The USAID-funded project, with a budget of nearly $ 10 million, focuses on three goals, improving the system of legal normative documents; Strengthening law enforcement, prosecuting crimes committed on wild fauna and flora species; Reduce the demand for illegal products from wildlife.
The United States will assist Vietnam in the crime of trading rhinoceros, elephants and pangolins in hot spots, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, or ports and airports. |
