Software for remote medical diagnosis
With the price being only 1/3 of imported ones, the software system exploits medical image data for medical diagnosis through Mobile devices and Smart TVs made by Vietnamese researchers. It reduces significant cost for hospitals and patients.

DICOM is currently widely used in hospitals, clinics and becomes the most popular image format today in the field of health. Unlike other image formats, in addition to image data, a DICOM file also contains information about the patient, the type of machine that creates the image, etc.

DICOM also makes it easy to integrate image receivers, servers, workstations, printers and other networking hardware from different manufacturers into PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System), or photo and video storage systems, developed to provide quick access and economical storage for medical imaging applications.

In Vietnam, there are PACS software of foreign countries, but it is only applied in a limited number of large hospitals, such as Bach Mai, 108, Cho Ray, due to the high cost (5,000 - 10,000 USD USD for each station of Doctor includes powerful CPU configuration, operating system license cost, diagnostic software).

Facing the current situation of overcrowding in domestic hospitals, the research team, including experts from Uu Viet Smart Joint Stock Company and Ho Chi Minh City Polytchecnic University have implemented the project for "Research, design DICOM Web data exploitation software system for medical conferences via mobile devices and Smart TVs.”

According to Dr. Nguyen Chi Ngoc, head of the research team, due to its unique medical regulations, newness and high technology, the research project has been faced with many challenges, not only in Vietnam but also in the whole world.

Due to the overcrowding in Vietnamese hospitals, the amount of rotation of DICOM image data to the PACS system is very large; to ensure accurate diagnosis results, data from image diagnosis machines to PACS and provided Mobile, Smart Tovi must be true and complete; viewing DICOM images through these devices not only serves the needs of the diagnosis, but also has to meet the diagnostic ability from personal mobile devices to experts, doctors inside and outside the hospital.
