Program to develop rooftop solar power and renewable energy in industrial zones in Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City Association of Enterprises in Industrial Parks (HBA), Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Management Board (HEPZA) and Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) have just held a launching ceremony of development program of rooftop solar power and renewable energy in industrial zones in Ho Chi Minh City for the period of 2020 - 2024.


Development program of rooftop solar power and renewable energy in export processing zones - industrial parks in Ho Chi Minh for the period of 2020-2024 with 1,000 enterprises in export processing zones - industrial parks, Ho Chi Minh City Hi-Tech Parks responded and installed the system.

Participating businesses will be supported with technical advice, connecting financial institutions, credit institutions, banks, and at the same time enhance brand influence, increase competitiveness in the market and develop export, as well as support and create favorable conditions for grid integration and solar power trading.

The program is expected to reduce 10-15% of electricity consumption, contributing to reducing 23 million tons of CO2, saving national resources, ensuring urban energy security, reducing pressure of environmental pollution.

Ho Chi Minh City is one of the developed cities with high population density and high economic growth rate, the demand for electricity of commercial, industrial and household groups is higher than that of the other cities. In particular, in the context of the power system is under pressure to ensure increasing supply of electricity and production.
