Strengthening the design capacity of sustainable coastal and marine management

On May 14, in Hanoi, MONRE, collaborated with Griffith University (Australia) to organize a workshop on sustainable coastal and marine management policies in the context of climate change. The two sides presented three project proposals within the framework of the training cooperation program in 2018.

Mr. Phan Tuan Hung, Director of Legal Department (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), delivered speech at the workshop.
According to Mr. Phan Tuan Hung, Director of the Legal Department (MONRE), Sustainable Coastal and marine Management Capacity Enhancement Program was supported by the Australian Governmen for the three years (2018-2020). Each year, there will be 3 delegations, each of the 15 members is staff of MONRE, DoNREs of coastal provinces to Australia to project study design and proposal. These trainings will help to strengthen the capacity of local staffs and, at the same time, to introduce products that are appropriate to Vietnam's conditions.
At the workshop, Hai Phong Department of Natural Resources and Environment introduced the proposal for the project "Planning to use climate change adaptation for Tien Lang district, Hai Phong"; Thai Binh Department of Natural Resources and Environment introduced the proposed project "Conservation of wetlands and associated habitats in Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province, Vietnam"; Institute for Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment "introduced the project proposal" Environmental Conflict in Management of marine areas in Quang Nam Province."
