Ho Chi Minh City: Weather changes
Ho Chi Minh City was known as the land of "the favorable rain and wind". However, nowadays, according to the climate change scenario, Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong River Delta are most affected by climate change. Ho Chi Minh City is also one of the 10 largest cities in the world is most affected by climate change.

Monitoring data and data analysis results from 1978 to 2015 of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Natural Resources and Environment showed that nature is "taking back" what it has incentives for the city. For example, the temperature tends increased from 1978 to 2015, the temperature rose above 1ºC. The number of days of hot sunshine is also increasing rapidly with lasted hot periods.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that in the recent years, local heavy rains frequently has caused floods and even heavy floods in parts of the inner city, caused serious impacts on traffic and socio-economic activities of the city.

At the same time, tide is also an important cause of flooding. Under the resonance effects of rain and tides caused many "umbilicus" floods in the city; many floodplains occurred after the rain, even when the tide was low; thence, this showed that the urban overflow was exceeding the capacity of the city drainage system, caused more serious urban floods.
