Ben Tre: Caught a sea turtle of 200 kg, traders bargained 150 million VND
Recently, Mr. Toan, who fished with a net at Ham Luong estuary, caught a sea turtle weighing 200 kg. As soon as knowing the news, traders bargain 150 million VND but he did not sell.

On April 9, Mr. Pham Van Toan (38 years old, living in Binh Khanh Dong commune, Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre province) said that while working in the net on the estuary of Ham Luong river, Thanh Phu district (Ben Tre) caught a sea turtle weighing about 200 kg, length of 1.2 meters.

When it is stuck in the net, due to too big and heavy so this turtle has broken the net, Mr. Toan must rely on the help of another five fishers to bring the turtle back to home.

According to the environmental resources newspaper, Mr. Pham Van Toan's family caught the big tortoise, every day hundreds of curious people from all over to see. Besides, there were many people to buy, in which a man from Tien Giang province offered the highest price at is 150 million VND. However, Mr. Toan's family does not sell, but he hopes that the state will support 20 million dong in fuel costs and repair the broken net by the sea turtle, and looks forward to releasing this rare turtle in the nature.

According to the Youth Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Chairman of Binh Khanh Dong Commune People's Committee, said that after receiving the above information, the commune came to mobilize Mr. Toan’s family not to sell turtles, so they should stay home and wait for support to release this sea turtle back to nature.
